I have the honor to write a letter of recommendation about my former basketball player László Kupai, who played under my guidance in his youth career, and later, when he left for a larger association - an academy - often returned to me for individual training sessions.
Maybe I can call myself an important person and a mentor in his basketball life, since I could observe in detail the everyday events and trials of his career. It's great to see and it makes me happy that he has reached such a high level in this beautiful sport thanks to his perseverance and excellent attitude.
One of the most important pillars of my coaching philosophy is to raise good people, in addition to them becoming excellent athletes and players.
László serves as an example for all my players, both for those who could train with him and for those who only see his career and the high level he reached.
He is a really coachable player, who has a great attitude, loves the training sessions, does not despise hard work and is hungry for success. I think this last element is the most important. He constantly wants to be better and better, and to achieve his goal and be successful both at the team level and individually. His greatest strength on the court is the shooting and the hustle; he never accepts a ball is lost.
At the beginning of his career, he had problems with defense and team play, but it was in these that he developed the most spectacularly. He admitted that he can be truly successful when he is excellent on both sides of the court. It is very important that today his game has reached the point where he makes others around him better.
I'm sure that one day he will be able to reach a very high level and make everyone here who was a part of it, even for just one training session, really proud.
